a word from grace
Becoming a successful musician is not easy. There is no road map on how to navigate the industry and every door seems to need a key, which can be difficult to find. Since leaving school, I have been on a mission to launch my music career, but understanding how it all works, who to talk to and where to go to get help has been daunting to say the least.
After paying professional studio producers to curate my first two songs, I felt there must be a better way to get my music out there. I wanted to feel more in control of the process and retain full ownership of my songs, so, in 2022 I started Indigo 555. I raised some funds to employ a small team to help me write and produce my new music. Hayley, Joel and Sascha are an amazing team to work with, all with their own unique skill sets, and it has been a completely different experience from my first two songs.
This inspired me to think about what Indigo could be to the music industry. There are probably lots of creatives out there that are looking for a space that offers real life support to do what they love. I want Indigo to be a safe space for creatives to share their goals and dreams while also offering practical support to write, produce and get their songs out there.
We are in our infancy right now, but watch this space. Indigo aims to change the face of the music industry in Aotearoa.
